Genetic Diversity and Population Structure of Barley Cultivars Released in Turkey and Bulgaria using iPBS-retrotransposon and SCoT markers

To improve quantitative traits, it is essential to acknowledge genetic structure and diversity of the crop plants. In this study, 54 barley cultivars released from 1963 date by different institutes in both Turkey Bulgaria were screened with 18 iPBS four SCoT markers evaluate population diversity. According results, while total allele numbers was identified as 560, polymorphic ones found 530 (438 92 alleles for markers, respectively). addition, average number 24.09. While, polymorphism information content (PIC) value 0.28, averagePIC 0.27 0.31 markers. The highest PIC obtained iPBS2271 marker 0.35. effective (ne), Shannon’s index (I), Nei’s (h) detected at 1.61, 0.52 0.35, respectively among values SCoT-71 1.55, 0.32 0.48, respectively. As a result distribution cultivars, analysis showed that subpopulations k=5. expected heterozygosity (He) fixation indices (Fst) 0.2335 0.3216, Based on dendrogram data, Martı Zahir most similar 75% similarity, whereas Özdemir Karatay 94 Tosunpaşa Konevi 73% similar. On other hand, Bayrak Avcı-2002 diverse 19.9% similarity.
